Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean reunite during YG Marley’s Coachella performance
Hill took the stage during her son’s Coachella performance over the weekend.
Fugees fans, rejoice! Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean reunited over the weekend at Coachella, taking the stage during Hill’s son YG Marley’s performance at the main music festival.
How Variation reportedHill appeared on her son’s stage about quarter-hour after his performance. The two previewed a few of her hits, including “Ex-Factor” and “Lost Ones,” to the Coachella crowd before inviting Jean to what became a partial Fugees reunion. In Pras’ absence, Jean and Hill performed their hit “Killing Me Softly.”
They also performed their hit “Fu-Gee-La”, releasing Busta Rhymes with Spliff Star. Rhymes performed his hit “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See” and also performed his verse from Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now.”
Marley replaced Pras during one other Fugees hit, “Ready or Not.” Jean told the audience, “When you put YG Marley and The Fugees together, this is what it sounds like.”
Variety reports that during the set, the trio paid tribute to Marley’s grandfather, Bob Marley, by playing snippets of his songs “One Love” and “Exodus.” YG also recorded a canopy of “Is This Love”. While playing Marley’s “War,” Jean reportedly told the group, “Coachella, if you don’t want any more war in the world, put your hands up.”

The performance comes at an exciting time for Hill, who has spent the past yr celebrating the twenty fifth anniversary of her acclaimed album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.” Grammy Award-winning album titled recently announced as an inductee on the inaugural Grammy Hall of Fame gala this fall.
