Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders scolded his players after a professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder said the student-athletes “have made it clear they don’t want to be here.”

Sanders was by no means pleased along with his players after a professor at the university wrote the coach a letter saying that his players weren’t paying much attention in class and that he had to repeat certain things because the players didn’t want to be there.

In a video that has circulated on social media, Sanders reads a letter to the players and displays it on the players’ screen.

“This semester was extremely demanding for me as a professor. In my 10 years of teaching, I have never felt so disrespected. Students can’t keep up even remotely, which slows down my classes a lot. This clearly shows that they don’t want to be here, they take very little personal responsibility, making ME responsible for their grades. For students who really want to learn, it was also a bad experience because they had to work in break rooms and scattered students did not bring anything to the table. I often have to repeat the same thing three to four times because the student-athletes are present but not actually in class. I don’t think they engaged with my classes in the online format. Next time, I advise them to take part in in-person classes.”

Sanders then read critical comments about a few of the players from a professor’s letter in which he told the players his goal was to turn them into men because they didn’t want to be great football players.

He then filmed a clip of a conversation along with his coaches about what had just happened.

“I’m a bit of frustrated, a bit of offended now. In this latest collective and NIL frame of mind, now we have young individuals who are on one side of the game. Ninety or 95% of your squad doesn’t turn pro, so coaches, now we have to emphasize education. We have to emphasize life and now we have to emphasize the next step, the next ascent, if this does not work. So today wasn’t an excellent day, but I can be pathetic if I let these kids walk out of here with nothing.
