Sean and Christian Combs’ Lawyer Calls Lawsuit ‘Sleazy and Worthless’

LOS ANGELES (AP) – A lawsuit that names Sean “Diddy” Combs as a co-defendant alleges that his son, Christian “King” Combs, sexually assaulted a woman working on a yacht chartered by his father.

The lawsuit filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court alleges that Sean Combs created the circumstances that led to the assault and paid to later cover it up. It’s the most recent in a series of lawsuits accusing the producer and music mogul of sexual misconduct, and follows a federal sex trafficking investigation that last week led Department of Homeland Security agents to raid his homes in Los Angeles and Miami.

Grace O’Marcaigh, who worked on the boat as a crew member and bartender, claims that in late December 2022, Christian Combs pressured her to drink tequila, which she believed was laced with other drugs. According to the lawsuit, he groped her breasts and genitals and tried to force her to perform oral sex.

The Associated Press doesn’t typically name individuals who say they’ve been victims of sexual abuse unless they arrive forward publicly, as O’Marcaigh did. She also agreed to have her name disclosed through her lawyers.

Aaron Dyer, attorney for Sean and Christian Combs, called the lawsuit “lewd and meritless.”

“We will be filing a motion to dismiss this outrageous claim,” Dyer said in a statement.

Dyer called the investigation that led to last week’s raids “nothing more than a witch hunt based on baseless accusations made in civil lawsuits.”

Sean Combs, who chartered the yacht for a 2022 holiday, “had complete control over the staff and premises” and created conditions in which her assault was not only tolerated but encouraged.

O’Marcaigh, who was 25 on the time, said that when Christian Combs, 24, got here on board late one evening, he seemed to be heavily intoxicated and commenced to pay her inappropriate attention.

She said the 2 were in a music studio aboard the ship, where producer Rodney Jones, who filed his own lawsuit in February, was asked about Sean Combs’ 24-hour availability to work on his next album.

O’Marcaigh testified in the lawsuit that Christian Combs insisted that she drink tequila, and he or she drank out of obligation.

The lawsuit alleges he became increasingly aggressive towards her, violently grabbing her arm as she tried to get out of the situation after which groping her. According to the suit, the drinks made every part blurry extremely quickly.

Microphones in the studio where Jones was alleged to record every part recorded their exchange, and the lawsuit includes a transcript in which O’Marcaigh demands that Christian Combs stop touching her.

The lawsuit alleges that he later continued the assault in the ship’s movie show, which was serving as a spare sleeping berth and where the ship was trying to seek out a place to remain because all of the rooms were occupied, before one other crew member arrived and detained him.

The next morning, O’Marcaigh told the yacht’s captain in regards to the attack, but maintains that after Combs handed him a large sum of money that day, the captain did not conduct any significant investigation or take any motion.

The lawsuit states that O’Marcaigh was ultimately fired in retaliation and has since been unable to seek out work in the music industry, where she planned to pursue a profession. She says she has suffered severe emotional trauma since 2022.

The lawsuit asks for damages, which shall be determined at trial.

Christian Combs can also be a music artist whose song “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” with Kodak Black topped the Billboard Mainstream R&B Hip-Hop charts in 2022. Last week, he was staying at his father’s house in Los Angeles, during which he and his brother were handcuffed but not arrested.

Producer Jones’ federal lawsuit, filed in February by Tyrone Blackburn, the identical attorney as O’Marcaigh’s lawsuit, alleges that Sean Combs forced him to solicit prostitutes and pressured him to have sex with them.

Dyer’s statement said the most recent lawsuit is “filled with the same type of manufactured lies and irrelevant facts that we have come to expect from Blackburn.”

He emphasized that U.S. District Judge Denise L. Cote on Wednesday criticized Blackburn in a separate lawsuit and referred him to a disciplinary panel because of a “pattern of behavior” in which he “improperly brings cases in federal court to gain media attention, embarrass defendants to lewd charges and put pressure on defendants to settle quickly.”

Blackburn responded in an email that “a referral doesn’t constitute a sanction” and that Combs’ lawyer’s statement was an attempt to “distract and deflect attention.”

“Christian Combs sexually assaulted Ms. O’Marcaigh and now we have it on tape,” Blackburn said.

Several lawsuits have drawn public criticism of the music and business mogul, starting with a November lawsuit filed by his former protege and girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, that alleged years of sexual abuse, including rape. It was decided the next day.

Combs and his lawyers have denied all allegations made in the lawsuit.

Combs, a three-time Grammy Award winner and founder of Bad Boy Records, is one of the most influential hip-hop producers and executives of the last three decades. He turned his hip-hop empire into a broader business empire that includes private label alcohol, fashion and a television network.
