Jonathan Majors sentenced in domestic assault case

Jonathan Majors was convicted in an assault and harassment case.

The actor avoided prison time, but may have to finish a counseling program and participate in a 52-week in-person intervention for perpetrators of domestic violence via the web site . He can be required to proceed routine mental health therapy sessions.

Majors was found guilty of 1 misdemeanor count of third-degree assault and one count of molestation in December 2023 stemming from an altercation along with his then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in March 2023 in New York. He was acquitted of two additional charges of assault and harassment. A Manhattan jury found the actor guilty of recklessly causing physical harm, but not guilty of intentionally causing physical harm.

Majors arrived on the sentencing on the morning of April 8 arm in arm with current girlfriend Meagan Good, who has been particularly public in her support of the actor for the reason that starting of the formal charges and trial proceedings.

However, the decision doesn’t mean the tip of the story for Majors, as Jabbari filed a civil lawsuit against the actor in March following his conviction, detailing an alleged pattern of domestic violence incidents from 2021-2023.

As per rumors, allegations of abuse have been swirling around Majors since his March 2023 arrest long repute Reports of alleged abusive and “cruel” behavior from former colleagues on the Yale Drama School and the New York Theater began to surface on social media. Majors’ trial and sentencing were repeatedly adjourned and delayed, with the unique sentencing date set for February 6. The actor spoke for the primary time in regards to the brutal incident that led to the costs and his subsequent conviction in early January during a hearing with .

During an interview with host Linsey Davis, Majors adamantly maintained that he was not accountable for Jabbari’s physical injuries – a broken finger and a laceration behind the ear – despite their altercation. However, he added that he still had no idea how the injuries occurred.

“I’d like to know,” he told Davis, how Jabbari was injured. “It would provide clarity, it would give me some peace of mind about this.”
