Like most TV personalities, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has TikTok and actively uses the video-sharing platform to showcase his culinary skills and diverse interests. He even shoots reaction videos of other chefs in motion. He recently got here across a video of a young chef named William, whom Ramsay called a “child genius.”

The 13-year-old prepared a particularly demanding gourmet beef Wellington and did it so well that the OBE winner slurred in amazement.

William, a black teenager living in Phoenix, said he only wanted to get 1 million views, but when his DIY video appeared on Ramsay’s TikTok profile, it got a whopping 15.8 million views and an invite to “Hell’s Kitchen.”

“Here we go, Beef Wellington,” Ramsay begins his reaction video. “Now, young man, first of all, are you 12 years old?”

Within seconds of recording, Ramsay was impressed with William’s technique. “Nice fry. Man, you approach this recipe with such confidence. Good job,” he says.

Ramsay was also impressed by William’s knife skills and the best way he prepared the “chestnut mushrooms” for the dish, noting that they provided the “best flavor” for the recipe.

“Looks good, young man,” Ramsay says, trying to give him instructions on how to make thin spinach pancakes, however the comment proves to be in vain. The boy had every part under control.

“Man, that is so good, seriously. I didn’t cook like that once I was 12. Actually, young man, you already know what? This looks so good. I would really like to invite you to Hell’s Kitchen as my guest,” the chef announced, adding: “Check your DMs. Well done.”

William, whose Facebook profile says he is definitely 13, then posted a video responding to Ramsay’s reaction, then slammed him within the face with two pieces of bread and said: “I guess I’m not an idiot sandwich.”

“Idiot sandwich” refers to a phrase coined by Ramsay and given to incompetent cooks within the kitchen. This sentence gained enormous popularity on social media, became a meme, and have become the title of Ramsay’s latest online post competition show.

Others were also impressed by William, commenting on his profile: “Young man is my favorite dish that you can’t eat because not many places serve it (it’s hard to make) and neither me nor my wife can make it. But damn, it looked absolutely AMAZING. May God bless you in all your endeavors!”

Another joked: “New insult: ‘I’ve seen a 12-year-old make a better beef Wellington than this’.”

Williams’ family got some love, too. “Greetings to his parents… for pushing him to do something constructive instead of on the streets,” reads a comment on social media.

On the teenager’s Instagram, you may read that he’s “self-taught” and overtly states that he cooks because he’s “always hungry”.

There’s no word on whether William took up Chef Ramsay’s offer, but we’re sure the connection will occur soon.
