How do you know if you are effective on social media?
Social media is a strong and almost indispensable tool for marketing an organization. How do you know if you’re managing social media properly? When serious about your online profile professionally, give it some thought holistically. What does your overall social media presence represent and is the image you paint effective?
If customers see your profile on all X platforms formerly often known as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, will they’ve the identical sense of who you are, or will you exude something completely different on each platform? Here are some questions you should ask yourself to get probably the most out of your social media presence.
Are you consistent across all platforms? If you post a subject on Monday, do you resolve to post it every Monday, or do you go off topic and post it on Monday this week and Wednesday next week since it completely slipped your mind? When constructing an audience, viewers want to keep up consistency.
“Social media gives us the opportunity to showcase different aspects of who we are; developing a narrative that is consistent with how you want to express who you are is really important,” said Lisa Mesa, corporate relations manager at LinkedIn. “It’s important to be intentional.”
“My typical formula is: an inspirational post at 2:00 in the morning, shots of life during the day, and a weird post about dating after 35 sucks at night, lol,” she said
Finally, when posting on different platforms, make sure that you are clear on how each platform serves you. If you are a author, Twitter could also be a greater option. If your profession is amazingly visual, Instagram can work wonders. If you are a marketer or profession coach, it might be best to spend more time on LinkedIn. Determine which platform suits you best and focus most of your energy there. Not all social media platforms are created equal.
