Beyoncé, SZA, Victoria Monét and more win iHeartRadio Music Awards

The iHeartRadio Music Awards, held Monday on the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, were a celebration for artists akin to Beyoncé and SZA, who were amongst those that took home major honors.

SZA won within the R&B category, winning three awards for her latest album “SOS.” She won iHeartRadio Artist of the Year, in addition to R&B Album of the Year for “SOS” and R&B Song of the Year for the favored song “Snooze.” Her achievements didn’t stop there: her fourth win went to her popular song “Kill Bill” for Song of the Year in all genres.

The singer-songwriter has consistently received high praise for “SOS” since its release in December 2022. In February, SZA was essentially the most Nominated for a Grammy Award artist. Of her nine nominations, she won three for her breakthrough second album.

Beyoncé took to the stage to just accept the iHeartRadio Music Innovation Award, which was an actual treat for the audience and fans watching the live performance.

Stevie Wonder – who plays harmonica on a track from Beyoncé’s latest country-heavy album “Cowboy Carter” – presented the singer with the celebrated award moments before her moving acceptance speech, through which she honored other Black legends who’ve broken barriers within the music industry, specifically mentioning Rosetta Tharpe, Linda Martell, Tina Turner, Wonder and others “who defied every label that was given to them.”

Drake was also the following artist to attain a record-breaking win. The superstar rapper won Hip-Hop Artist of the Year for the sixth time, making him the one artist to win multiple times in the identical category.

Victoria Monét also joined the iHeartRadio Music Awards winners that night. The Grammy Award-winning writer-turned-performer won for Best New R&B Artist. Ice Spice also took home the award for best latest hip-hop artist.
