Weeks after comedian Mike Epps apologized twice for a joke that suggested he was just learning the best way to treat the ladies in his life right, with fans assuming it included his wife Kyra Epps.

Def Comedy Jam later claimed he was “duped” into making such “ignorant and reckless” comments after revealing his unresolved issues with his mother and didn’t want to position them on his wife or children.

“It’s something I want to do for my mother, my children and my daughters. “I’ve never treated a woman right 100 percent, and now as I’m getting older, I realize, man, you’ve got to treat a woman right,” he said on the “All The Smoke” podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen “Stak” Jackson on March 7.

After critics criticized him for his apparent lack of respect for his wife, Epps vowed never to give an interview again. Now, in what fans describe as an attempt to prove that his home is happy, he has posted a photo and two videos of his spouse and two children having fun as a family at the ranch.

The Indianapolis resident wrote on Instagram: “Family time with horses.”

The first slide appears to be a photograph taken by the family matriarch next to their daughter Indiana Rose Epps, 4, while the back shows the principal character and creator of “The Upshaws” looking over a metal fence and seemingly watching her son Lil Michael.

Both videos feature the toddler and give fans a glimpse into his personality. Many couldn’t get enough of Epps’ namesake, who in a single clip appeared too drained or unimpressed to ride a horse.

At this point, Epps has a camera and is filming everyone.

“Mikey’s still napping,” Kyra says before the camera cuts to her. Epps signs off on her statement, saying, “Yes, he’s still sleepy.”

He then asks his daughter, whom he calls “India”, what she thinks of the experience. She said: “That’s nice. Show me Mikey, yes, nice,” and then the camera pans to a two-year-old on a horse whose trainer is telling him a few guided ride.

Mikey’s third clip appears to be a bit more animated. His father calls him when he makes fun of the coach. Epps shouts, “Mike Mike, yaaaah, get up on your horses,” encouraging him to drag on the reins like in cowboy movies. When the toddler tries this, he’s quickly reprimanded by the trainer who says, “We don’t do this on a real live horse.”

Dad and Lil Mikey aren’t the one ones who didn’t know higher than to drag the reins like that.

One commenter called the journey “beautiful” and asked, “Why don’t we do it on a real horse? I’m curious. I didn’t realize it. They do it in movies.”

“We don’t do this on a real live horse, that’s true, because it will make the horse take off and run like the Lone Ranger!” one other explained, and one other added: “Exactly! Because when this horse gains speed, it will be over!”

This is the primary post Epps has shared with his family since posting a message on his behalf on his birthday daughter’s birthday earlier this month. While many individuals gushed in regards to the beautiful family within the comments, some shouted out the “Nex Friday” star for being a family man and wished him all one of the best.

“You lost the game, I’m proud of you, congratulations,” wrote an Instagram user. Another person saluted, “Dae Dae finally grew up and had a good woman.”

Epps knows he has a very good woman, which is why he quickly apologized after the “All The Smoke” episode was posted on YouTube.

One of his comments that he immediately regretted was: “What will I get right before I leave this earth… I will learn how to treat a woman 100 percent right… I have never treated a woman 100 percent right.”

Kyra never publicly addressed the comment, but inside a day of uploading the video to the video-sharing site, Epps wrote on the X platform: “I would like to apologize to my wife for what I said on this silly podcast that’s…st is a bag for tricks. I’m at all times misunderstood once I speak on the Internet. I won’t ever interview anyone again. I won’t ever (thumbs down emoji) quit this shit for good.

He then shared one other message: “I again need to apologize to my beautiful wife for my ignorance and recklessness. I respect you and my family. Please forgive me.”

The two still don’t follow each other on social media, but things seem to be going well in the Epps household now. However, if Lil Mikey fell off his horse because his dad told him to “get it going,” he could immediately find himself in trouble with Ms. Kyra.
