New Music This Week: Beyoncé Releases Long-Awaited ‘Cowboy Carter’
arrived. Beyoncé’s 27-track country album hits streaming platforms today and features previously released singles “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages,” in addition to appearances by Willie Nelson, Miley Cyrus and Black Country pioneer Linda Martell, amongst others.
Today’s premiere is the second a part of the three-act trilogy that Beyoncé began together with her award-winning album in July 2022. “This album took over five years to create. It got here from an experience I had a few years ago where I didn’t feel welcome… and it was very clear that I wasn’t,” Beyoncé wrote in a post on the website Instagram earlier this month. The caption was created in conjunction with her appearance at the 2016 CMA Awards, during which she performed “Daddy Lessons” from the film.
“But through this experience, I delved deeper into the history of country music and studied our rich music archive,” she continued. “It’s good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives to learning about our musical history.”
In addition to , latest music can be available this week, including tracks from Doechia, Hit-Boy, Mozzy, and albums by Flyan Boss, Buddy, and more. You can take a look at today’s release list below.
