Kevin Hart will receive the Mark Twain Award for American Humor
WASHINGTON (AP) – Kevin Hart, who rose from open mics and comedy clubs in his native Philadelphia to turn into considered one of the country’s most recognizable performers, will receive an award named after him. Mark Twain for American humor during Sunday’s gala at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Hart, 44, has developed a particular style that mixes his small stature, expressive face and motor lips into successful stand-up comedy.
Hart made his Hollywood film debut in 2002’s “Paper Soldiers” and gained mainstream fame with a series of scene-stealing cameos in hits corresponding to 2005’s “The 40-Year-Old Virgin.”
Hart’s movies have grossed over $4.23 billion worldwide.
Award named after Now in its twenty fifth 12 months, the Mark Twain Festival annually honors performers who’ve made an enduring impact on humor and culture. The honorees will receive a bronze bust of Twain, the iconic American author and satirist, whose real name was Samuel Clemens.
