The Gathering Spot (TGS) project has reached a vital milestone.
A social club specifically aimed toward Black professionals just celebrated its eighth anniversary during Gather Weekend.
Co-founders Ryan Wilson and TK Petersen recently announced that they’ll expand the franchise, adding a fourth physical location in Houston, Texas, joining clubs in Atlanta, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles.
Founded in 2016, the concept began in Washington, D.C., while Wilson was a student at Georgetown Law School. Since then, the founding duo has amassed hundreds of like-minded members over nearly a decade to advance social values and skilled empowerment.
“Our anniversary is not just about commemorating a moment; it is about celebrating the unwavering spirit of our community,” Wilson said in a news release. “The club’s new location is a beacon of our growing legacy and our promise to continue to create spaces and opportunities that inform, strengthen and support our communities.”
In a press release, the corporate said that earlier this 12 months it welcomed President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and three Cabinet members to 3 events where they held critical conversations impacting our communities.
“These opportunities reflect exciting times ahead for The Gathering Spot and are a testament to the vibrant future we envision as we continue to build and innovate for our community,” Petersen said in an announcement.
To have a good time this anniversary, TGS also plans to boost its members’ experience with a brand new mobile app designed to make it even easier for members to remain connected. It is scheduled to launch at the tip of March.
