The 96th Academy Awards took place on Sunday in Los Angeles, during which Hollywood’s brightest stars celebrated one of the best achievements of last yr’s cinema.

Host Jimmy Kimmel led the audience on the 96th Academy Awards on the Dolby Theater through a performance honoring some of the most important movies of the yr, including “Barbie,” “Oppenheimer” and more. As the industry continues to grapple with strikes in the summertime of 2023, the evening took a celebratory tone, honoring the exertions that actors and writers put into securing a good cope with studios, while elevating the usual of work of all nominees.

Cord Jefferson also won an Oscar for best adapted screenplay for writing “American Fiction.” In his speech, Jefferson called on Hollywood to take more risks with emerging talent.
