Don Lemon on “The Don Lemon Show” and Elon Musk’s fallout: “I’m energized and excited about the future”
Nearly a yr after leaving CNN, journalist and anchor Don Lemon hosts a brand new program, “The Don Lemon Show,” which finally premieres online. In a recent interview with PeopleLemon talked more about his show and his public conflict with X owner Elon Musk.
The show was originally a part of a cope with X, formerly generally known as Twitter, but last week, a number of days before the premiere episode (which is an interview with X’s controversial owner himself), Musk texted Lemon saying their deal had been terminated, but Lemon will still give you the chance to post content on the platform. Despite reports of the show being canceled, the recent Lemon series was never intended to be exclusive to X. Rather, the social media site was intended to have exclusive access to a few of the show’s content before it spread widely. It was all the time intended to be available on multiple platforms on the web, which he explains intimately at the top of the episode.
“Contrary to what you may have heard, X did not cancel us,” Lemon explains in the episode. “Yes, after months of begging and pestering me to offer exclusive content on his platform, Elon Musk has decided to terminate the contract.” Lemon explains that episodes might be released on YouTube, Spotify and iHeartRadio as planned.
“The possibility of Elon Musk being unpredictable and inconsistent, yes, of course I knew that,” Lemon told People over the weekend. “I went into it with my eyes open. I actually have interviewed many world leaders, presidents and inmates, and nobody was more sensitive or touchy-feely than Elon Musk.
After the interview, he said that for somebody who “constantly claims he doesn’t care what people write or say about him,” Musk “certainly does.”
“He’s not used to being held accountable,” he continued. “He’s not used to having to answer to anyone, especially someone like me who doesn’t share his worldview and doesn’t look like him.”
