On Thursday, following President Biden’s State of the Union address, Alabama state senator Katie Britt delivered the GOP address answer.

Although at the starting of her 17-minute salvo Britta is “the youngest Republican woman elected to the U.S. Senate,” she was quick to downplay her role as a robust legislator.

“I am honored to serve the people of the great state of Alabama in the United States Senate. However, it is not the profession that is most important. I am a proud wife and mother of two school-age children,” Britt said of her kitchen.

Although she has never been a full-time stay-at-home mom, “Britt clearly wanted viewers to imagine her in an apron, looking lovingly at her family and realizing that she had to sacrifice some household chores for the sake of the ‘children’s future,'” Living room notes.

Even fellow Republican senator Britt z AlabamaTommy Tuberville couldn’t look beyond the image of the woman at the kitchen table.

“She was elected to be a housewife, not only a senator, someone who checked out it from a distinct perspective… I mean, she did what she was asked to do. I believe she did an excellent job. And that is hard whenever you’ve never done anything like this,” he said Tuberville.

As Alabama has been making negative headlines recently regarding IVF access, GOP MP the next day, she doubled down during an appearance on Newsmax, claiming that Britt was the most suitable option for the pro-life party because “she’s a mom” and “a homemaker.”

Britt’s speech coincided with the incontrovertible fact that traditional wives are actually in fashion. How NPR host Ayesha Rascoe defined: “A traditional wife – short for traditional wife – does not refer to a regular stay-at-home mom. The traditional wife is incredibly perfect. Her house is immaculate. Her makeup is on point. She makes almost everything from scratch, usually in the perfect dress. In short, it’s straight out of a 1950s sitcom.”

As such, this appears to be the newest Republican female base trade wivesand the Trump presidency and subsequent re-election campaign are attempting to capitalize on this trend.

As activist and co-founder of Campaign Zero Brittany N. Packnett Cunningham further wrote Threads“Let Katie Britt’s response be a reminder that many black women have tried to warn you that innocent-looking ‘traditional wife’ content is ushering in right-wing ideologies ahead of an election year.”

“It wasn’t a random trend. They were making more traditional wives so they might organize them. “It’s a playbook,” Cunningham uninterrupted.

“During the primaries, the Republican Party made it clear that while they will fight the culture wars, a nasty DeSantis-style approach will turn off the voters he needs,” he said Cunningham. “So, to counter Trump’s ugliness, they changed their other voices from a vile man with no compassion to a white woman with tears in her eyes pleading for righteous, patriotic saviors to stand up for her and her children.”

Cunningham also noted that it “harkens back to the ’40s and ’50s.” it erased a key issue demographic“Of course they relied on Black domestic help to make everything look perfect, but they don’t mention that.”
