Celebrities had an enormous week crammed with invitation-only events this week. From the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty to the GLAAD Awards, the red carpet was covered in A-list looks. Our goal is to uplift black talent, from actresses to singers. These stunning future prospects ought to be discussed intimately.
At the NAACP Awards, actor Kelvin Harrison Jr. showed us that standing out with an eclectic look is at all times a great solution. He wore a Prada look that was unexpected but nonetheless cohesive. Actress Michaela Jaé Rodriguez dazzled in a brown dress with gold embellishments, designed by Gaurav Gupta Couture for her appearance at the GLAAD Awards. Actress Ego Nwodim also attended the NAACP Image Awards in Meruert Tolegen, which had an added texture that enhanced the otherwise easy look.
At the Vanity Fair Oscars, actresses Jodie Turner-Smith, Kelly Rowland and Kerry Washington completely stole the show. All three women wore variations of a protracted black gown with a plunging neckline, like Smith’s, with a puffy white train, like Roland’s, or with sheer lace detailing, like Washington’s. These women are trailblazers in their very own right, and even Kelly’s recent foray into method acting was exciting to observe. They grabbed our attention on screen, but our eyes were wide open for these red carpet moments.
Chloe Bailey was recently spotted in a leather Pressiat dress at the GLAAD Awards that featured so many alternative details – one was a sassy statement piece, no pun intended. Our favorite on-screen teacher, Sheryl Lee Ralph, wore a Sophie Couture gown for her appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party. In the style of her daughter Ivy, Coco literally can do no mistaken.
Keep scrolling to see them in all their glory.
Kelvin Harrison Jr. wears Prada
Actor Kelvin Harrison Jr. wore an eclectic outfit to the fifty fifth Annual NAACP Image Awards. His look was designed by Prada and consisted of a protracted navy coat, brilliant red pants with a yellow braided belt and black leather shoes with square toes. Underneath the coat he wore a black turtleneck, which he wore just off his shoulders, creating an “officecore” effect in his outfit. The shades in the look were mostly primary colours, but they worked well on the actor.
I wear Meruert Tolegen
forged member Ego Nwodim wore a black, sheer and textured Meruert Tolegen dress to the NAACP Image Awards. Sheer black gloves matched her elegant look. The shape of the dress at the hips added much more drama to the extra ruched fabric. She accessorized with a pair of black gemstone tassel earrings and accomplished her look with a pair of black pointy-toe stilettos with a single ankle strap.
Michaela Jaé Rodriguez in Gaurav Gupta Couture
Actress Michaela Jaé Rodriguez looked amazing in her chocolate brown, gold-embellished dress at the GLAAD Awards. Dress designed by Gaurav Gupta, was strapless and with a deep neckline, revealing her cleavage for a moment. She was styled by two people Wayman Deon and Micah McDonald. Thanks to this, the team created such an attention grabbing moment. As for accessories, she wore brown drop earrings as the final touch to her outfit for the big night.
Chloe Bailey is wearing Pressiat
Singer Chloe Bailey wore a leather dress designed by Press with lots of GLAAD Awards details added. For example, the back of her dress had a lace-up detail that exposed her butt. There were cutouts on the shoulders and feather trim on the cutouts and sleeves. The gray leather dress has a slit at the back and a deep neckline at the front. Another detail was the added texture of the dress. It’s already leather, but the exposed seams on each leather panel were a surprising addition.
Jodie Turner-Smith in Gucci
Actress Jodie Turner-Smith’s high-cut Gucci dress with a side slit was the whole lot we wanted for our red carpet moment. The styling was, of course, done by the dynamic duo Michah McDonald AND Wayman Deon that created this striking look. The actress was accessorized with just a couple of accessories: a pair of large diamond studs and a diamond bracelet, designed by Pasquale Bruni. Elegant black pointed-toe heels designed by Louboutin perfectly complemented her chic outfit.
Kelly Rowland in Nina Ricci
Kelly Rowland’s post-Vanity Fair party look was full of dazzling drama. White gloves, a spectacular, puffy train and an old Hollywood hairstyle took us back to the roaring 20s. The black and white dress was a chic alternative of her stylist. Collin Carter. Her white gloves were decorated with black satin bows on the top of her arm, and she or he accomplished the look with a black and white drop-shaped necklace, designed by Mexicoto maintain the color scheme consistent. She also wore open mesh black stockings that added dimension to her look, in addition to a pair of black pointy-toe stilettos. The deep neckline of the dress was rounded, giving it a full look with some elevated details.
Kerry Washington wears a Giambattista Valli gown
Kerry Washington dazzled in an off-the-shoulder black lace dress at the Vanity Fair after party, designed by Giambattista Valli and styled by Mariel Haen. Her look was fun with layered tulle fabric showing off her cleavage and rhinestones at the waist. The center of the dress was transparent, revealing the legs, and the bottom was covered with opaque black tulle. It has a bow detail at the waist, showing that the trend is coming all over the place. Around her neck is a diamond necklace with several finger rings and a pair of diamond earrings, all designed by Mexicofor accessories.
Sheryl Lee Ralph in Sophie Couture
Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, styled by her daughter Ivy Coco, attended the Vanity Fair event in a Sophie Couture gown. The dress was long, sleeveless, dazzling, shining with silver. She didn’t should add too many accessories because the dress spoke for itself. However, she decided to wear a pair of earrings designed by Charlotte Dauphin. The complete look has been crafted to perfection by K. Mały.
