In the latest installment of the Turkey Leg Hut saga, former co-owner Lynn Price helped found it pop-up restaurant with an oyster theme across the street from the Houston restaurant that unceremoniously fired him months ago.

According to reports, Price heavily promoted Tiger2Dozen on his social media accounts on March 2, helping the store and its owner, Royal “Tiger” Bellock, sell New Orleans-style grilled oysters.

Price met Bellock just a few weeks ago and was so impressed together with his setup that he invited him to Houston.

Bellock, who runs the business together with his fiancée, Jacquel Johnson, began grilling oysters in New Orleans in 2019 with one grill before eventually selecting grilling in a trailer.

Price said their arrangement is exclusive in Houston’s culinary scene and praised the taste of Tiger2Dozen’s oysters. “We’re in a hurry here,” Price said. “I do know good food and I do know the right way to generate income. You can taste New Orleans in these oysters.

Meanwhile, customers who showed up attributed their presence to Price’s promotion of Tiger2Dozen. Nikki Harris said: “It’s fire, but I’ve never waited this long for oysters,” Harris said. “I don’t know if we would be here if Lynn hadn’t told everyone.”

Others were inquisitive about Price’s relationship with Turkey Leg Hut. Some, like Janelle Williams, asked him directly, but Williams only received a smile in response. “I’m not sure he still works at Turkey Leg,” said Williams, who ate an order of crawfish from Turkey Leg Hut in the car parking zone.

How BLACK ENTERPRISES previously reportedTurkey There have been several scandals at Leg Hut over the past few months, most recently the financial problems that Price’s estranged wife, Nakia Holmes, suggested in an announcement were caused at least partly by his actions.

Although Price is allegedly barred from setting foot in Turkey Leg Hut under the condition of his expulsion from the company, the tent Tiger2Dozen used on the weekend of March 3 was branded Turkey Leg Hut and featured images of Price and Holmes. This, combined with the move from the pop-up to the Turkey Leg Hut, appeared to create confusion over Price’s position in the company.

Bellock said the next time he involves Houston, he desires to take his trailer with him to accommodate more customers and burgers. “I’m not surprised that so many people came,” Johnson said, “but it’s still amazing.”
