Cedric The Entertainer calls out Katt Williams for accusing him of stealing his joke during an interview, but not to Cedric’s face

One thing is obvious in regards to the people of St. Louis: They defend themselves, as do Nelly and Cedric The Entertainer, discussing Katt Williams’ claims that Cedric stole a joke from him.

Cedric admitted he’s “not an internet guy,” but people like Nelly called him about Williams’ scathing interview in January, during which he accused the “The Original Kings of Comedy” star of stealing one of his best jokes about white people traveling in space Get away from the blacks within the 2000 comedy special.

The accusation was made publicly by Williams during a 2021 episode of “The Morning Hustle.” Cedric denied it on the time, and Williams brought it up again during his appearance on “Club Shay Shay.”

Many allegedly called Cedric in regards to the interview, asking, “What’s going on with this little guy?” Nelly said during a recent sit-down for “The Shop” podcast. Others asked, “When the guy pulls up, what do you want to do?”

The 59-year-old said that “of course” you regularly hear similar jokes in comedies, but Williams “in my opinion was claiming cultural appropriation.”

“Driving an old car, rolling down the windows – it’s the ’70s. If I ask anyone how you drive, that’s it,” Cedric explained. “You cannot say my joke a couple of spaceship is your joke about driving a automotive because we make the identical gestures. That’s my opinion on this.”

Podcast co-host Maverick Carter confirmed Ced’s point, adding that individuals made the identical gesture within the Sixties. Nelly then adds, “The hypocrisy of it is that he stole the joke from JB Smooth.”

Williams had the DJ play Rick Ross’ single “Hustlin'” to the audience during the 2007 show “Katt Williams: American Hustle.”

“I dare say that’s not true because I can get a thousand comics to back me up,” Holcomb said on the time. “I’m rooting for Katt, I’m rooting for Katt, but that joke where he’s like, ‘Man, should you listen to this song, you possibly can do anything with it. That’s a JB Smoove joke, dude.

Like Holcomb, Cedric said he had no problems with the “Pimpin, Pimpin'” star, but wondered why he never approached him personally about stealing the joke.

“I think he’s awesome and no shit… I actually am. But I talk about it as a comedian. I feel like I’ve dated this guy many times and this is exactly what I wanted. It’s like we never had a personal conversation about it,” he said. “Because if we sway together and I see that you and I feel the same, then tell me so, don’t do it later.”
