Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia are divorcing after a year of marriage: A timeline of their relationship

And similar to that, it’s over for Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia.
In exclusive obtained by PEOPLE, the truth TV personality has filed for divorce from the businessman after just over a year of marriage. The news got here after they obtained court documents filed by the star.
This comes after stories surfaced online about Guobadia’s past, in addition to bank and bank card fraud linked to his origins within the country within the late Nineteen Eighties and early Nineteen Nineties. Guoboadia apparently responded to the re-revealed information by posting a photo of himself he smiles, with the caption: “I don’t wobble, I say campe.” In Nigerian pidgin it simply signifies that all the pieces is tremendous and nothing can shake him.
That said, a source told the publication that the split is “unrelated to the recent allegations regarding Simon’s past” and is an “ongoing matter.”
The couple, who recently looked head over heels in love as they celebrated their first wedding anniversary in November, tied the knot in 2022 in each an elaborate native ceremony and an excellent larger traditional white wedding.

They are dating
In 2020, Porsha Williams first met Simon Guobadia while filming season 13 of Real Housewives of Atlanta. At the time, he was married to series friend Falynn Pina.

They fall in love
They didn’t start gaining attention until around 2021, Guobadia and Williams said. Earlier this year, he and Pina broke up, and within the spring, he and Williams were an item. This happened after the 2 connected over the news of his divorce when he sent her a DM. “I actually told him, ‘I’m sorry about your divorce’ and all that, because I know how that feels,” she told Andy Cohen this year. “I know what it’s like to experience betrayal and pain.”

They get engaged
Shortly after they began dating, which was news to the general public, Guobadia proposed to the RHOA star. The engagement was confirmed in May 2021. Speculation that they were getting married began after he was photographed spending time together with her and her ex-fiancé, Dennis McKinley, on Mother’s Day. At the time, McKinley commented on one of the photos with, “Congratulations P! Cheers to you in the following chapter! Happy Mother’s Day.”

She defends their relationship
When news of the engagement became public, Williams spoke out, and people quickly concluded that she had taken Guobadia away from Pina, which might have been especially inappropriate since they worked together on RHOA (and she was on the couple’s home at one point). She said that this was not the case and that after a month of dating, they desired to be together permanently. She admitted that all the pieces happened quickly, but made it clear that she was truly blissful. “For anyone who needs facts, I have optics, but Simon filed for divorce from his previous marriage in January. I had nothing to do with them filing for divorce. “It’s a matter between them both,” she wrote. “Falynn and I are not friends and Simon’s divorce has been settled. Our relationship is a positive and loving step forward in each of our lives.”

They are visiting Nigeria
In a big step, in the autumn of 2021, the couple made a very vital trip to his homeland, traveling to Benin City within the southern part of Nigeria. She was welcomed with joy and reveled in all of the cultural experiences. “My first time in Nigeria and I already like it there,” she wrote on Instagram on the time.

They get married in style
By November 2022, after much talk of fifty-eleven planned wedding ceremonies and trips to Nigeria, Williams and Guobadia were married in two ceremonies on November 26 and 27, in a native ceremony honoring his Edo culture, and then the next On the identical day, an American wedding took place, which was a star-studded event.

They turn out to be a blended family
While mixing in with Williams’ clan wasn’t the simplest task considering her RHOA spinoff on Bravo, the couple had no problem getting their kids together. The blended family traveled everywhere in the world, including Costa Rica and Hawaii. He has a daughter, Pilar, from his relationship with Dennis McKinley, and Guobadia has five children of his own – none with ex-wife Falynn Pina.

They honor their love again
On the occasion of their first wedding anniversary, the couple celebrated in a unique way: they bought luxury diamond rings. She received an emerald diamond and he received a fancy recent wedding ring. This is not the primary time she put a ring on him, as she bought him an engagement ring from Tiffany & Co., which caused quite a stir on the web in 2021.

They separated
Despite the show of love, Williams decided to finish her marriage after 15 months. While we do not know what caused the split, we’ll probably discover the entire truth soon, as she recently announced her return for season 16 after leaving the show to deal with love and family with Guobadia in 2021.
