Japan is now the fifth country to land on the Moon – the technology used will be useful in future lunar missions

Japan has landed Intelligent lander to explore the Moon, or SLIM, a ship on the lunar surface on January 20, 2024. Despite problems with powering the lander, this event has each political and technical significance. This is Japan’s first landing on the moon – making it only the fifth country in the world to successfully land on the moon.
