Ayesha Curry, wife of NBA star Stephen Curry, opened to about being labeled a “geriatric pregnancy” in an interview on March 2.

The 34-year-old actress is pregnant along with her and Steph Curry’s fourth child.

“The visits with my doctor were interesting,” said Ayesha Curry. “I’m in my thirties, so throughout this documentation there may be reference to this experience as a ‘geriatric pregnancy’ and the concerns related to it.

“I feel there’s something that should be more nuanced with regards to women, their age and the conversation about having children. Many women of their 30s and 40s are going through this for the primary time, and being told you are “old” seems disturbing and crazy. I feel the narrative must be modified a bit.

Ayesha Curry has two daughters, Riley and Ryan, and a son, Canon, with Curry.

“But one of the biggest differences (in this pregnancy) is the new understanding that it really goes away in the blink of an eye,” she said. “And in the blink of an eye, it can all be taken away. It encouraged me to slow down and enjoy every little thing, especially since this was my last pregnancy.”

She said this pregnancy is different from others because she relies more on close friends and relations.

“I was really stubborn in my previous pregnancies,” she admitted truthfully. “And that finally hurt me. It made everything difficult for me. I had to learn to put my pride aside and realize that I can get help, have people around me who help me and not be ashamed of it.”

Ayesha Curry expressed her desire to “build a village” for her child.

“I’m still attempting to determine what it’s wish to construct my village. I feel prefer it’s never complete, right? There are all the time people coming, people leaving and folks staying here perpetually. And that is okay.” she said .
