In response, Day took steps to make Pinedo aware that his discriminatory behavior had consequences.
“He’s a racist and calls people N-words,” Day said. in her movie. “So I called his school, High Desert Medical College in Lancaster, and let them know,” she said, showing a screenshot of an email sent to a school representative.
“I made it clear to them that James didn’t like ‘black people,’ that he was a racist, and that he shouldn’t be a nurse because black people need to go to the doctor, too,” Day continued.
She took it a step further and contacted the California Board of Registered Nursing to file a formal criticism, and even contacted Pinedo’s mother and stepfather for good measure.
Day posted the video on Saturday, which has been viewed by nearly six million people on TikTok, with hundreds of comments praising her response.

People also flooded the official TikTok account of High Desert Medical College in Lancaster, California, asking for updates on Pinedo’s current status as a student.
On Monday, the college responded to several comments, stating, “We resolved the situation in accordance with our Code of Conduct policy published in our catalog. Due to FERPA, we cannot share the outcome of the situation. We do not tolerate racism in any way at HDMC.”
