Houston turkey shack catches fire – court documents reveal intentional behavior of co-owner’s estranged husband who opened an oyster pop-up across the street
The drama surrounding the owners of the famous Turkey Leg Hut in Houston, Texas, intensified when a fire broke out in the restaurant’s office on March 9.
According to KHOU 11 News, firefighters arrived at the scene a scene on Rosedale Street once upon a time after 4 a.m. No injuries were reported. Fire Chief Sam Peña told reporters that investigators were working to find out whether the office fire was arson-related.
The Turkey Leg Hut saga began in December 2022, when restaurant owners Nakia Price and her soon-to-be ex-husband, Lyndell Price, were sued by the food supplier for greater than $1.2 million. The lawsuit said the couple owed US Foods for unpaid invoices, which the couple denied. The couple was previously sued by co-owner Steven Rogers in 2020 during negotiations to purchase him out.
Rogers found the duo breached their fiduciary duties and charged them with fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud. The couple denied and denied the allegations. The busy restaurant also got here under scrutiny when owners began charging $100 for reservations.
The drama escalated in February 2024 when Nakia Price announced that her husband had been fired. The decision followed rumors that Mr. Price had been cheating on his wife with female employees at the venue, leading Nakia to file for divorce. Her divorce filing was made public in November, with Nakia accusing her husband of narcissism and abuse of her and their family.
“The abuse, manipulation, lies, fraud, gaslighting and narcissism have become unbearable,” she said. he wrote on Instagram. “The world thinks he is a business-minded man, but you are all sadly mistaken. The man my children and I know is cruel, emotionally and mentally abusive, and completely devoid of any emotion. From the moment we wake up until we close our eyes every night, we are literally fighting a battle for our peace and sanity.”
Lyndell Price denied being fired from Turkey Leg Hut and claimed he was still part owner.
“That’s not true at all. If I was kicked out, I wouldn’t be on the property. It’s a bit difficult to fire the owner. My face is still up there,” he added he said Chron News last week. “On the contrary, many people think we have what we want, but me and my wife are fine; we are still in business together.”
Lynn claimed he was “still in business” together with his wife days after he opened a grilled oyster joint across the street from the Turkey Leg Hut. The oyster pop-up is a brand new partnership with New Orleans chef Royal “Tiger” Bellock.
On the same day that the fire occurred, he shared a photograph of himself smiling signature“Still, I smile and move on, letting the work do the talking…. We cry in the shower, let it sink in, then move on… @hardriders_mc for life.”
In a separate, since-deleted post from his IG story, Lynn appears to have shared a promotional photo for an upcoming show titled “Love & Smoke: Houston,” which features photos of him and his wife. He continued, “Love tastes best… roasted,” and tagged a girl named Carmen Key, who goes by the name “officialcarmenkey” online.
Fans of the restaurant downplayed the couple’s drama on social media. “Lynn’s wife kicked him out of the cabin with turkey legs and now he sells oysters. lol I can not hate the hustle” he wrote one.
Another fan shared a photograph of Price’s oysters and oysters he wrote, “Eating Divoyster Oysters from the Turkey Leg Hut and Getting Incredibly Strong.” Another user x he wrote“You’re about to get food poisoning eating oysters in the parking lot next to the turkey leg shack. I thought brother got fired @turkeyleghut @HoustonChron @HoustonHealth.”
Nakia Price has yet to comment on her husband’s oyster pop-up. But in keeping with Lynn’s IG page, they still spend time together. You can see it, amongst others: photos in January.
However, court documents were leaked reveal filed for an emergency restraining order against her, their children and their business, drawing attention to threatening and abusive text messages Lynn allegedly sent her in December. He allegedly said, “B—h, I built you up and told you to hurry up, now watch this,” and “She’s going to run into me somewhere and she’s going to have to go back to the restaurant one day.”
In one message allegedly sent to their daughter in November, Lynn wrote: “Trust me, it’s going to get ugly.”

Why Denzel Washington quit drinking at 60
Denzel Washington has been sober for nearly a decade, but he had one particular vice: wine.(*60*)
In a brand new profile, the 69-year-old actor talks about his history with wine, drugs like LSD and growing up in New York within the Seventies. Esquire magazine..(*60*)
“Wine is very difficult,” he warned. “It’s very slow… It’s not like boom.”(*60*)
He explained that, unlike harder substances, he had “the perfect idea for wine tasting and so on – and that’s how it was in the beginning.”(*60*)
“And this is a very subtle thing,” he added.(*60*)
Washington said his habit really took off in 1999, when he built a house with a ten-thousand-bottle wine cellar and “learned to drink the best of it.”(*60*)
He added: “My passion was wine, and now I was pouring $4,000 bottles just because it was left.”(*60*)
The “Gladiator II” star eventually developed an intake management system; he frequently ordered the 2 best bottles of wine available at his favorite liquor store.(*60*)
“And my wife says, ‘Why do you only order two?’ I said, “Because if I order more, I’ll drink more.” So I limited it to 2 bottles and drank each in the course of the day,” he told the publication.(*60*)
Even though she drinks wine day by day, the “Equalizer 3” star said she never drank alcohol while working or preparing for a task, even while filming “Flight,” which tells the story of an alcoholic pilot.(*60*)
“I would clean up and go back to work – I could do both,” he said. “Regardless of the months of shooting, bang, it is time to wrap up. And then boom. Three months of wine and time to get back to work.(*60*)
The actor admitted that when he was younger, it was easier to take care of this pattern.(*60*)
“Two months off and we’re going. But the drinking was a fifteen-year pattern. And truth be told, it didn’t start in 1999. It began earlier,” he explained.(*60*)
Washington, who was born and raised in Mount Vernon, New York, described what it was like growing up there within the late Seventies. Spending time on projects with individuals who exposed him to heroin, cocaine, hard alcohol and more, he admits that he experimented but personally “never got hooked on it.” (*60*)
In fact, much of those formative years experiences were passed on to a few of Washington’s best and most complex figures. Still, he said, “I am unable to consider a single role where I said, ‘Man, that is me.’ Completely me? No, no.(*60*)
Since he quit drinking, he appears like “everything is opening up to him.”(*60*)
“It’s like you’re seventy,” he said. “This is real. And it’s okay. This is the last chapter – if I get one other thirty, what do I would like to do? My mother lived to be ninety-seven.(*60*)
The husband and father of 4 also pays more attention to fitness today, due to Lenny Kravitz, who introduced him to his trainer.(*60*)
“I’m doing everything I can,” he said.(*60*)
As he noted in the course of the “Gladiator II” press session, he’s also enthusiastic about upcoming projects which will become his last – and yes, they include two more “Equalizer” movies.(*60*)
“People love these daggone ‘Equalizers,'” he said. (*60*)
