Even essentially the most beautiful people on this planet face challenges. Ask Eva Marcille.

The former “America’s Next Top Model” winner faced criticism and concerns about her slim appearance months after she filed for divorce from Michael T. Sterling in March 2023. In a recent interview on Tamron Hall’s daytime talk show of the identical name, she revealed that her remarkable weight loss was actually attributed to the stress of her divorce.

Marcille further stated that the general public response on social media led her to dam comments where some wrote that she “looks so skinny.”

She said that these remarks did more harm to her peace, which is at all times her goal to defend.

Hall connected with the model-turned-actress to ask about her weekly practice of “Spiritual Wednesdays” and explained that self-care goes deeper than simply taking good care of your hair and nails.

The host moved the conversation to the time when Marcille was a victim of cyberbullying and the way she handled it, asking if it was related to the spiritual work she does as a part of her special Wednesday practice.

“I saw this post last summer when you were on the red carpet. You organized an event, posted a photo, and people started coming to your social media and commenting on how thin you were,” Hall recalled. “You disabled your comment…which I feel is healthy. This made me think about your Wednesday meditations and mindfulness because you mostly talk about keeping negativity at bay. You clearly saw these comments.

The mother of three chimed in: “Of course, but where do you put them?” explaining that the typical person just bury them.

Before Marcille could finish her response, Hall asked if she expected comments or if she thought she “looked thinner” than usual.

The Los Angeles resident said she thought she “looked good” and had never thought about the difference in her appearance, but understood why she was smaller.

“I came here to be transparent and honest,” the previous “Real Housewives of Atlanta” solid member said. “I went through a divorce last yr. Anyone who has ever been through a divorce knows how difficult divorce is. It’s just like the stomach flu. For example, you will probably be skinny afterwards. If you lose a 200-pound person, you’ll lose at the very least 30 kilos.

Adding, “In my case, I lost weight naturally as I went through life, and before my divorce, I went into a depression where I was trying to find my bearings and rediscover who I was.”

In Marcille’s case, she stated that she needed to determine who she is as an individual beyond being a wife and the numerous other hats she wears, including star of the hit BET show “All the Queens Men.”

“I’m not a wife anymore. I’m not another person’s person. I’m someone’s mom. but when I selected the mother’s path, if I took the madam’s path, if I took the “Top Model”… who’s Eva?” she emphasized, before stating that her current priority is “attending to know this character and constructing it.”

In fact, in July 2023, Marcille announced that she was taking a “break” from various platforms. Fortunately, her 5 million followers supported her and wished her well as she stepped back from the highlight during her marriage breakdown.

“It still hurts,” she added. “It does.”

Even upon her return, the “Meet the Browns” star, often praised throughout her profession for her striking looks, found herself facing attack. People bombarded her with concerns about her noticeably slimmer figure. But this time, supporters rallied against those promoting worst-case scenarios, calling as an alternative for expressions of solidarity and encouragement.

“Please remember Chadwick and watch what you say. Showing love is less complicated than throwing out negativity,” someone wrote. Marcille showed her appreciation by replying with a heart emoji.

It would not be the last time fans virtually took down the cybercriminals who flooded Marcille’s comments section about her size.

In March, after a photograph of her on the red carpet on the NAACP Image Awards was posted, one person commented: “Seriously, I hope Eva is okay. Please don’t attack me, but she looks too skinny.

People immediately protected their girlfriend.

“She might be sick. Lord, be with Eve. Like Chadwick Boseman. Bless her,” considered one of the numerous messages of support read, reminding people to have a look at the positives and that she is “still looking forward to her supermodel walk.”

Marcille finalized her divorce from Sterling last August. Together they’ve sons Michael Jr. and Maverick. Additionally, Marcille has a daughter named Marley Rae from her previous relationship with Kevin McCall. Sterling, who adopted Marley at a young age, was not ordered to pay child support.
