BET Awards 2023 - Arrivals

The rapper will try her hand at acting in the upcoming crime thriller “High and Low”.

It looks like Ice Spice could also be adding “actress” to her resume with a brand new gig. Rapper will be there debuts on the big screen in Spike Lee’s recent movie. “High and Low” is an English-language reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s crime thriller.

Apple Original Films announced production of the project co-written by Lee and Alan Fox earlier this week with a social media post featuring Ice Spice and Denzel Washington. According to Variety, the film, produced by Apple Original Films and A24, relies on Kurosawa’s 1963 film starring Toshiro Mifune, based on Ed McBain’s novel “King’s Ransom,” a few businessman’s damage after paying a ransom to his kidnappers. The film will have a theatrical release before being available on AppleTV+.

Ice Spice has already began shooting for the film, which will be her first entry into the world of acting. If her music profession is any indication, she’s poised for nice success.

She has already earned 4 Grammy nominations this yr, including nominations for best recent artist and best rap song, regardless that she has yet to release her first full-length album, “Y2K,” which is scheduled for release later this yr.

Although her music profession began with collaborations with big names in the music industry equivalent to Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj, her journey to Hollywood appears to be following an analogous trajectory. We cannot wait to see what energy the “Muncha” rapper will bring to the big screen.

“High and Low” is Lee and Washington’s fifth collaboration. The duo hasn’t worked together since 2006’s Inside Man. They previously worked together on “Mo’ Better Blues,” “He Got Game” and “Malcolm X.”

It’s also a reunion between Washington and producer Todd Black, who collaborated on “Fences,” “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and “The Equalizer.”

After finding no evidence to support the daughter’s claims that her brother had neglected the actor, the police discontinued the case on April 8.

With his elder abuse case closed, “Good Times” actor John Amos plans to proceed producing his latest film.

“I am even more determined to finish the documentary that my son and I are producing” – Amos he told People. “It will shed light on the real truth about the motives of those who wrote the false story about me. My name is John Amos and honestly, this mess is what makes James Evans stay.

The Los Angeles Police Department has launched an investigation into allegations of elder abuse made by Amos’ daughter, Shannon. She claimed that her brother Kelly “KC” did not adequately meet their father’s health care needs.

Shannon shared her frustration with police’s decision Monday to close the case due to lack of evidence.

“While I appreciate the efforts of the LAPD in my father’s case, I am disappointed in their conclusions as no one in my family has seen or spoken to my father since July 2023, when KC Amos, Eugene Brummet and Belinda Foster removed him from the hospital medical facility against doctors’ recommendations,” she said in a statement. “We continue to receive assistance from healthcare providers, health care professionals and others who provide evidence that raises concerns about his well-being and whether he is receiving the care his health requires.”

Amos denied Shannon’s initials allegations that in June 2023 he became a victim of elder abuse. His daughter soon filed a complaint with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and started a GoFundMe campaign to increase “care expenses” for her father. At her father’s request, Shannon deleted the page, which had raised over $13,000 at the time.

In March, the 84-year-old actor denied his daughter’s new allegations of neglect. He called Shannon’s claims “false and undeserved” and described KC as a “caring, caring man who respects me.”

Amos and his director son are collaborating on the upcoming live-action film “Roots.” documentarieswhich can focus on his life and the longevity of his five-decade acting profession.

“The real truth will soon come out and you will hear it from me,” Amos continued. “Believe it.”

Amos played an important role in film and television throughout his life. His extensive acting resume includes roles in “Two and a Half Men,” “Coming to America,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and other projects.
